Spy Dog

Spy Dog is a series about Lara; a mongrel who works for the British secret service as an undercover spy dog. In one of her missions, she caught a villain named Mr. Big, a drug dealer, but he escaped. Lara had tracked him down to a wood but he had pulled out a gun and she fled. She was rescued by the RSPCA and chose the Cook family for her mission plan.

In Spy Dog Unleashed Mr Big has escaped prison and is trying to track down Lara. Mr Big gets surgery done on him so he is unrecognisable. An exact copy of Lara is made and taught to do crimes. The police think its Lara but the Cook family prove its not by noticing that the dog impersonating Lara has no bullet hole in its ear. Mr Big plans to steal a diamond but Lara foils him again.

Lara has many special abilities that other dogs do not: she can understand many languages (although she can only speak dog), read and write, drive a car, do karate, and many other abilities.

Spy Pups

Spy Pups is a new book series about Lara's puppies, Spud and Star, who also go on adventures. The first book, Spy Pups: Treasure Quest, was released on the 6th August 2009 [1].

The puppy's first mission is at Auntie Aggie's house, a place called Smuggler's Cottage. There is rumored to be treasure in a castle, and the pups want to find out what it is. They want to be spy dogs like their mother, but Lara would rather have a quieter life. Even so, they have been given special "Wag Helmets" (helmets with torches that are powered by sensing the puppy's tails wagging), which come in handy after Ollie says he's seen a mysterious man walk out of his wardrobe. After closer inspection, the pups discover that the wardrobe has a fake back, and reveal a secret tunnel. With their mother gone for a walk with the children, they decide to investigate, and see if they find the treasure.

Three more books were released soon after, the newest being Spy Pups: Danger Island. In it, the pups inadvertently come across a gang kidnapping dogs.
